Personal website building 101: registering domain names; free/ paid hosting; how to build a website?

Hello!

I%26#039;d be grateful for advice...

I purchased a domain name with bravenet.com

I also have free hosting with bravenet.

I would now like to build a personal website.

However, I do not like bravenet%26#039;s templates or website builder.

Could someone tell me:

* What is free hosting and what does this provide? (there are ads with bravenet)

* Am I tied into being hosted by bravenet because I purchased my domain name via them?

* Will I have to re-purchase the domain name via bravenet on renewal?

* Can I move away from bravenet- and what can I move and how do I do it?

* What elements can I move and why should I consider this?

* Is it better to pay for hosting?

* Any suggestions as to good, reasonably priced hosting companies?

* Can anyone suggest a good way of building a website (either with an online website builder or with easy-to-learn web design functions as I am a web design total beginner)?

Thank you.

Scotty

ok then,

-freeehosting is when you don%26#039;t have to pay to have your site hosted, but you do have alot of ads

-yes i think that you are tied to bravenet, for you bought your domin name there

-you can only buy a do,ain name once, the it is gone and no-one can use that name

-i don%26#039;t think that you can move

-i don%26#039;t know that answer

-it is better to pay for hosting for you can get more bandwith and if they provide it, customer support

-hosting companies, if you want to you could always use dream host, i was thinking about using them untill i found freewebs, and also 1and1 , they keep on bosting about how good there hosting packages are

-i started off by using windows frontpage, but then moved onto a diffrent program when i had mastered the basics, so yeah, freewebs is a good place to start

no probs

Dear fiend, any bad web hosting service would trouble you for a long period. At first, try to choose a professional service to get rid of the subsequent problems. And also please don閳ユ獩 trust dishonest claims like unlimited hosting space or unlimited bandwidth!

As an experienced webmaster I suggest BlueHost service which I閳ユ獡 sure it would work for you. BlueHost, a Multi-awarded affordable Web Hosting, offers a Full-featured service only $6.95 a month. Their service is really perfect, reliable and uptime.

You can go there through the address below:

http://bluehost2008.atspace.com

Here I have copied and pasted its features from their website to view:

- Multi-awarded

- Free Domain Forever

- 600 Gigabyte Hosting Space

- 6,000 GIGS of Transfer

- Host UNLIMITED Domains

- 2,500 POP/Imap Email Accounts

- SSH (Secure Shell), SSL, FTP, Stats

- CGI, Ruby (RoR), Perl, PHP, MySQL

- 2000/2002/2003 Front Page Extensions

- Free Site Builder

- 24/7 Superb/Responsive Sales/Support

- $6.95 a month

Good Luck!

Other Replys:The answer is really pretty simple.

http://www.geocities.com

There are literally hundreds of companys out there offering this and that, in the area of web hosting Domain service, but they all fail to tell you they are Mickey Mouse, OH and we add the adds to your site, did we forget to tell you that.

Geocities is top notch and offer Very good easy to use Software as well. No Adds.

Other Replys:The free host, you can get this one:

http://www.000webhost.com/?id=15273

It%26#039;s absolutetly free of any kind of ads, supports your own domain name.

For the construction of a website, you can start by learning HTML.

This is my website teaching that, but doesn%26#039;t have much content at this moment. Anyway, I can also help you with that:

lordoflores@hotmail.com

Other Replys:If you would like to create your own website then you could use either Weebly or Freewebs. I would recommend Freewebs because it%26#039;s easier to use and has more features. They are both free. If you would like your own domain name the do a google search for %26quot;.co.nr%26quot;. You will then click on #1. Their you can link your website to the domain name!
