What is the best way to host a million images on a web server?

I have a web site where members can sign up and upload images. Thinking large scale, say I have 100,000 members and each one uploads 100 images (averaging 1mb per image). That would require roughly 10,000 gigabytes of storage.

What is the best way to set up a server(s) to host something of this scale?

Well, you could set up a standard merchant account with Yahoo

and get bigger as you grow.

Getting 100.000 users will get a long time, by the time you get there you will have the money to pay for it.

Starting up with Yahoo it means they%26#039;ll NEVER run out of space which means you won%26#039;t have to change servers when you grow.

You can start even smaller than merchant here http://yahoowebhosting.moneysavecenter.c...

take care and good luck with your ventures.

Well 10TB (10,000 GB) is going to be very, very expensive. However the best way to set up a server(s) to host something like that hmm...So basically something like PhotoBucket or ImageShack right? I think I may have your answer. Try the link below.
