How to let other ppl view my website that i host on my own web server?

Where is the website hosted? If you are hosting with a third-party company, there are two components. Domain registration and the actual hosting. Domain is the address of your website (eg. www.yourwebsite.com). Hosting is the location where your website is physically stored.

If you use paid third-party hosting companies, they usually do domain registration as well, or they often refer you to their preferred domain registrar. Once you have a domain and hosting account, you could then upload your website via FTP or through their web application.

You can also use some free hosting companies like www.50webs.com or www.geocities.com. But they won%26#039;t give you a free domain. So, instead of having www.yourwebsite.com, you can only get a sub-domain like yourwebsite.50webs.com.

Now, having said all that. I hope you are not trying to host your website on your own computer. This is a more difficult approach and often requires a great deal of skills and patience as well as a number of prerequisites of your ISP. :)
