Image Hosting?

i use adobe photoshop for my web graphics. some of my graphics though, end in %26quot;jpg.psd%26quot;. however, when I want to upload them i can%26#039;t since all image hosting websites i%26#039;ve seen don%26#039;t support %26quot;.jpg.psd%26quot; type files. does anyone know a image host that supports those files?

Image Hosting?

It would be easier to save the files as a .Jpeg, .gif etc. .PSD is the photoshop extension that includes all your layers etc, if your just showing off the picture, save it as a jpeg. when you save it at the bottom select the file type make sure it%26#039;s not Photoshop file, and that it%26#039;s Jpeg or .gif b/c it seems like your just typing .jpeg at the end of your file name, and photoshop automatically will add the extention of the file type selected.

If you want them to have the whole file and they have photoshop to view it, then you can use place like www.filefront.com or www.filefactory.com to host your files.

Good Luck,

Jeremy

Website Hosting Problem???

okay so i just registered a .com domain name. they gave me some like one month hosting thing so i figured out what ftp was and i uploaded my html files and created a directory on the server but when i checked out the page, the site worked alright but there was a big abnoxious banner ad at the top from the web hoster (bigdaddy.com) i checked out all the files but nothing seems to be there. any solutions? how do i get rid of the banner. okay so then i had an idea. i have a pretty good internet connection and i have a relatively okay computer that isnt used. is there any way that i can host my own website? i mean i own the domain and so cant i put the html files into a directory on the computer and have it as a server? it isnt a big website so it shouldnt be a problem. i am a total newbie at this website stuff and i need some serious help. serious answers only.. thanks!!

Website Hosting Problem???

In all actuality, I would go use Yahoo for hosting your page if I were you. It is much easier to use and you put all content on yourself. You download their sitebuilder for free, and as long as you can put together a Word Document, you can put together your own website. I put a link below if you want to check out more.

Hope this helps.

Website Hosting Problem???

Let me answer your questions one at a time:

1. The reason that there is a big banner at the top of your pages is because this is how the host has decided to pay for your %26quot;free%26quot; hosting. They allow you to host your web site for free, in exchange for putting their banner at the top of the page. There is no way for you to remove this from the page, unless you perhaps pay for hosting from this company.

2. As far as hosting your own web site is concerned, this is something that is possible, though I would not recommend it. There is a lot involved in doing this, especially regarding security. Additionally, many ISPs (Internet Service Providers) have stipulations in their terms and conditions that say that you%26#039;re not allowed to host a web site through your internet access. Often you%26#039;re required to sign up for the business class internet service if you want to do this. Additionally, many ISPs hand out dynamic IP addresses, which can be a problem when you want to have the domain name resolve to your machine. To get around this, you can use a service like DynDNS.

I would just recommend that you purchase web hosting from a company. You can get it for VERY cheap these days. I%26#039;m currently with HostAffect - http://hostaffect.com - and they%26#039;ve got a $15 / year plan that I%26#039;d recommend.

Other Replys:The banner in question seems to have been placed by your web host. The 1 month hosting is probably a trial offer, and it%26#039;s a common practice for hosts to place a banner on your site during that time. Since you%26#039;e bought a domain name, my guess is you need to upgrade to a paid hosting option (1-2 years). Contact them regarding this. It%26#039;s the only way to remove the banner.

Heart Internet: reselling hosting space and template websites, does it make money?

has anyone made big money from reselling heart internet or equivilent websites using their web builder plus software? I am looking to work as a web designer for local small to medium businesses. Also, if anybody is, how much are you charging for the monthly hosting?

Thank you very much.

Mr T

Heart Internet: reselling hosting space and template websites, does it make money?

Just selling layouts (no back end coding) is by no means going to provide enough money.

Hosting, varies from company to company, and it also depends on the facilities provided. I pay around 21euro/year (domain name included).

As for web design: if you design a php powered e-commerce website with around 5 pages, you can charge around 150 euro.

But just the client side coding (HTML , CSS and Javascript) is not enough to be payed decently.

Reselling others products without you in the chain eg, the product in your hand and you collect the cash means that you have to take the company%26#039;s word for the sales it gets.

BTW templates are what puts developers out of work.

Help choosing hosting plan for php forum?

1999 Rs/mo. oh, no!!..... for PREMIUM.

I suggest you to Analise how about your website is?

1)

What type of your website. Community based? likes http://www.writingforums.com. You website like this or not? or only standard website and having phpBB as your board with 4-5 group of discussion.

If no need much, standard plan is enough I think. 10GB data transfer per month is OK. Fine!

10 boxes of mySQL database in 250MB is ok. You must adjust and take care your data every week. I don%26#039;t like to use mysql-based forums because if one day mysql is dead, no activitiy happens on my website but phpBB is so comfortably used.

2)

Where is your visitors live? from your country or including from outside. Where is your server placed. if %26quot;outside%26quot;, go outside by yourself better I suggest; you may get cheaper. I had ever hosted with web hosting company in USA. It%26#039;s ok, cheaper.

Are you ok to find more choices. See more and you%26#039;ll have more information to make decision.

any suggestion please....

If I don't plan on having ecommerce on my Web site do I really need a SSL certificate?

I am hosting a couple sites for my client and my own Web site and I want to know if I really need to spend all that money to purchase security certificates for all the sites.

If I don%26#039;t plan on having ecommerce on my Web site do I really need a SSL certificate?

You only need an SSL certificate if you plan on accepting credit card purchases through your website. Otherwise you do not need one.

FYI, if you do accept a lot of personal and sensitive information your users would appreciate if you used SSL to make that information secure to submit to your site but you would do just fine without it.

I have my own website (domain & hosting already) can I use yahoo for my email I already have w/t

I%26#039;ve had a website already for a few years with hosting from a company and an email address already through them, but I don%26#039;t like their web based email interface and I really like yahoo%26#039;s. I%26#039;d like to keep all my hosting with them, but can I somehow use my email address on yahoo and view everything through yahoo and use yahoo to do everything with my email? If so, how do I do it? I don%26#039;t have to switch my hosting to yahoo, do I? Thank you for your help! I can%26#039;t figure out how to do it from Help.

I have my own website (domain %26amp; hosting already) can I use yahoo for my email I already have w/the website?

Probably you can do this, yes. It depends on whether your web host allows you to forward or redirect your email. Ask about this. With many web hosts, its as simple as a click of the button to direct all mail from me@mydomain.com to me@yahoo.com

I have my own website (domain %26amp; hosting already) can I use yahoo for my email I already have w/the website?

You may have to switch your email to yahoo. Contact yahoo and ask the same question, their tech support maybe able to help you.

Good luck.
